Snail mail only?

Last week I called the South Carolina Department of Archives & History inquiring about certain records.

When I asked about the cost for purchasing certain microfilm, I was told that information will be provided after the matter was researched. The employee asked me for my name and address. We discussed another matter. I then provided my name. I thereafter stated, you asked for my address. Did you mean my e-mail address? He responded, no, your address.

Surprised that such a minor request could not be transmitted via e-mail. I did receive the requested information via mail a few days later.

One would believe sending such information would be cheaper, more cost effective by e-mail. Maybe South Carolina doesn’t think so.
