Don’t bank at BoA & never will

I’m a little behind with the news. Just learned today from
NPR.org that, effective next year, BoA will charge $5/month for customers using debit cards. BoA claims it is a way to recoup the loss of fees from limits on interchange fees BoA can charge merchants.

Of course, individuals who maintain a certain level of income in their accounts (the rich) won’t be charged a fee.

If you hesitated to change banks before because it was “too difficult” I hope you are now motivated.

Since the late 1980s I have been banking with credit unions. The credit union has not forgotten customer service. They generally have lower interest rates on loans and higher interest on savings rates.

So please, don’t let BoA take another penny of your money. Close that account and open an account at a credit union or a local bank.

No more excuses. Just do it!!
