My own diet plan

Late last year & earlier this Year I gained some weight. Finally it became an issue for me when I wasn’t looking that great in my work clothes (The Money Heifer has not budgeted for new clothes). The thought of having to spend money unnecessarily was all the incentive I needed!

I began with keeping a food journal, recording everything I ate (yes, that’s tedious).  I was painfully honest in documenting what I consumed without any positive results. So, the beginning of March I became more concerted.

I just didn’t record what I ate, I made a conscious decision to eat less than 2000 calories per day, preferably between 1500 – 1800 calories (& I consume even less on Fridays during Lent.) So far, so good.  I’ve lost 5.5 lbs.

Besides willing myself not to overeat, processed foods such as Healthy Choice Portbello Marsala  Mushrooms are my salvation. I also prepare healthier processed meals such as instant oatmeal.

March is frozen food month. The local grocery store offered Healthy Choice entrees  – 5 for $10. Hmmm, i think i can get this weight off by the end of the month.
