Cancelled doesn’t mean cancelled?

About two weeks ago I called the Wall Street Journal and informed subscription service that I would not renew my subscription. I was told I would stop receiving the newspaper in a couple of days.

Two days after that telephone conversation I was surprised to receive the newspaper. I assumed, come the following Monday, the subscription would end. Uh, no.

So I’ll call the Wall Street Journal again tomorrow.

Who would have guessed it would be so difficult to terminate a subscription?
